Monaco diamond league

The monaco diamond league will be the first international event this outdoor season. Even better, there will be fans! It may be because we’ve been deprived of races, but it’s the most hype surrounding an event i’ve had since the 2012 olympics. So much hype infact, you might just see us there…

The lineup for the 14th of august may be one of the greatest lineups in diamond league history, featuring olympic/world champions in almost every event. There is also many rumours of world record attempts.

The timetable:

Men 200m, Men 800m, Men 1500m, Men 5000m, Men 110m Hurdles, Men 400m Hurdles, Men 3000m Steeplechase, Men Pole Vault,

Women 100m, Women 400m, Women 1000m, Women 5000m, Women High Jump, Women Triple Jump

The athletes confirmed so far;

Joshua cheptegei, sifan hassan, Pascal martinot lagarde, Kirsten warholm, Yulimar rojas, Konstanze klosterhalfen, Halimah nakaayi, Noah lyles, armand duplantis, Jakob ingebrigtsen, Hellen obiri, filip ingebrigtsen, Katrina johnson-thompson, Conseslus kipruto, henrik ingebrigtsen, sam kendricks, marie-josee ta lou, tim Cheruiyot, yaroslava mahuchikh, orlando ortega, faith kipyegon & Yuliya levchenko

Joshua cheptegei has added fuel to the hype from stating he will be making a world record attempt in the 5000m. the womens 5000m world record could also be at risk, along with the mens 400m hurdles

For me the men’s 1500m, the womens 5000m and the mens 400m hurdles

the mens 1500m is featuring cheruiyot, all 3 ingebrigtsens and the man himself Craig Engels. Jakob has already shown dominant form so far this season so it’d be great to see if hes up to the challenge of competing with Cheruiyot and breaking 3:30.

the womens 5000m includes one of the greatest in womens distance running, siffan hassan. it would be great to see here go for the current World record. This race also has obiri and klosterhalfen.

In the mens 400m hurdles, warholm looks more than ready to break the world record and along with his outlandish personality, his presence never fails to disappoint.
